Khojaly is a historical and cultural part of Azerbaijan. It belongs to the Khojaly-Gadabay culture dating back to the 14th-7th centuries B.C.
In all, the assault and capture of the Khojaly town took the lives of 613 of its people, including 106 women, 63 children and 70 elderly.
Armenia deliberately planned the attack and most of the Armenians took it as “revenge” against civil population of Khojaly.
Years after that cold winter, the residents of Khojaly witnessed the restoration of life and the blooming of almond trees once again.
Today, Khojaly is experiencing a phase of revival. Residents returning to their homeland are witnessing reconstruction efforts and the revival of life.
